¡As we sit here writing this, it’s a beautiful Monday morning in May, the sun is cracking the flags and (with an enthusiasm that definitely bellies all our years enduring terrible Scottish summers) we’re desperately excited to start telling everyone about when our outside seating area is going live again!
¡The tables and chairs have been power washed and the café barriers have been given a lick of paint, all we’re waiting on now is our licence coming through!
¡¿¡And if you didn’t already know, the area at the front of the restaurant is a brilliant wee sun trap in the afternoon and early evening- what could be more Spanish that eating tapas on terrace in the sun!?!
¿¡So then, we can hear you say, when does it open?! ¡This Friday, the 27th of May! ¡We’ve just got our fingers crossed now for a good summer!
¡And, actually, whilst we’re talking about the summer (!if you didn’t already know!) it’s nearly the 2016 European Football Championships! ¡And, as has now become customary in Tapa, we’ll be showing ALL the games live on our big screen projector above the bar (¡and flat screen TV in the corner so everyone can see!) with, of course, particular attention being paid to the Spanish team’s involvement!
¡As reigning European Champions, everyone at Tapa is hopeful that they’ll give the defence of their title a better shot than they did as World Champions two years ago! The tournament kicks off with hosts France playing the Romanians on Friday 10th June at 20:00 with Spain’s first game, against the Czech Republic, being on Monday 13th June at 14:00 web based project management. ¡Ok, we know that’s not a great time for everyone but their second game against Turkey is at 20:00 on Friday 17th June- the perfect time for some great tapas and a brilliant game of football!
Then, in what could potentially be a group decider, their final game is against Croatia on Tuesday 21st of June at 20:00.
¡The atmosphere for Spain games is always electric in Tapa and in the last few tournaments it’s been brilliant to share the teams journey with the same group of people that came to watch all the games! And as a family friendly restaurant is the perfect place to bring the kids…
¡Whilst all Spanish games will be played with live commentary, every other game will NOT be and for those who might not be interested in the football, please remember that our Back Room Area of the Restaurant will be a completely football free zone for the whole Championship!
¡We look forward to seeing you soon!
